How to setup a Web File Server (Barracuda Drive)

http://barracudaserver.com/products/BarracudaDrive/WebServer.lsp

Trial license but is a cool thing to try. Very useful if you forget your flash drive, CD/DVD disk, External drive or a file/document at home and you are out at work or overseas.

Easily transfer large files rather than uploading to mediafire or megaupload as usual practice. It's secure and build on LUA language, no WAMP required. Has it's own webserver and can be mapped as a drive.

Try a test server here http://itassist.dyndns.org

Username: user
Password: give on request

In the user example, I shared user folder and external drive F:\movies folder (apparently not working because external drive removed). Admin has access to my computer and all privilege granted. If you log in as user, go to 'access my files' menu to see user example.

1. Download setup for windows here http://barracudaserver.com/products/BarracudaDrive/download.lsp

2. Install and configure. Get a Dyndns.org account if you have a non-static IP.

3. Tweak to desired settings.

4. Run tests

the system is running on a home computer. I regularly shut it down to save power, but i will keep it running in the future.
